Communion Clubnight - January

Start the new year off in the best possible way -join us at Notting Hill Arts Club for our first Clubnight of the year, featuring some of the best new acts around!

This Irish neo-soul singer songwriter has an impressive resume, including having done backing vocals for no other than Adele (yes THAT Adele!) as well as having had his past releases championed by Sir Elton John himself. Combining gritty blues with urban pop and his stadium-sized vocals, Moncrieff has created a sound that he refers to as ‘neo-noir-soul’ and we’re absolutely loving it.

The Shakers
Renowned for their energetic and charismatic live shows, and with industry support from the likes of BBC Introducing and Radio X, this South London five-piece are ready to take you by storm with their groovy disco rock made up of funky bass and 70’s inspired rock n’ roll guitars.

If dreamy pop melodies cast in an electric setting, with silk smooth vocals and catchy hooks reminiscent of those of LANY sounds like your cup of tea, then you’re going to love this London four-piece called Balcony. Check out their latest single ‘Parking Lots’ for a first taste of their sound.

StevieRay Latham
Hailing from the South West of England where he grew up surfing, the now London-based StevieRay Latham moved to the capital to study art and give the folk circuit a go and eventually ended up with a BBC Young Folk Award nomination. Gradually expanding his sound over the course of two albums for Brighton’s At The Helm Records, Latham is now incorporating a more twinkling, spaced out west coast sound to his 60’s inspired folk blues.

Rina Mushonga
Taking inspiration from her Zimbabwean roots and mixing it up with pulsating synths, the Dutch-Zimbabwean Rina has created her very own electronic afropop sound which has already caught the interest by publications such as Noisey and Pitchfork. Catch her live ahead of her album release on February 15th.

Winnie Raeder
Born and raised in the Danish small town of Aabenraa, the now London-based singer songwriter Winnie Raeder has soon made a name for herself thanks to her captivating voice and impressive storytelling ability. Make sure to come down early as to not miss what will be an unforgettable set.
